Hair requires protein, moisture, and lubricant grease to keep it healthy. A human hair wig is like a vault, if you spend money and don't put gold in the vault, it will be emptied sooner or later. We could not seal moisture in wigs unless with the help of products.
Feeding wigs with water is the best way to increase the water content. But, you can not just water hair as watering flowers. Air dry hair within no time. And it is infeasible to soak your wig in water or keep it wet all day. So, applying moisturizer or spray is a better option.
Bear in mind: use a water-based moisturizer.
Some wig moisturizers are oil-based. It works to seal the original water content but fails to increase the amount of water in the hair.
After washing the hair, please squeeze the redundant water by hand and then smear moderate moisturizing condition on the ends of your hair evenly. Applying the conditioner on the crown is a culprit of oil hair. Then, leave the hair on for three to five minutes. If you remove your wig from the head when you wash it, that’s fine to soak hair in conditioner liquid for several hours.
Comb wigs with a wide-tooth comb for curly human hair wigs, and rinse hair with lukewarm water.
It takes much longer time in winter to air dry your hair and take a risk to damage hair while putting wet hair outside. If you do not remove the wig and wash your hair in the shower, blow-dry the roots of the wig or the first level of hair from the head to prevent headaches due to sleeping with wet hair.
But, leaving out enough time and washing hair two hours before going to bed could solve this problem and take care of human hair wigs greatly. Put the wig on a wig head in your bedroom, it will certainly dry in the morning and stay moisturized as well.
Making great hair patterns is also a way to keep hair moisturized.
Braids or twists lock in moisture and help your hair stay soft. You don't need to do a lot of braids or twists, one big braid or twist is okay. However, for better sleep and better hair hydration, you can divide your hair into seven to eight medium-sized sections and twist them. If you like straight hair and don't want the protective hairstyle at night to affect the hair effect during the day, you can make your braids looser at night so that they will not affect the hairstyle too much.
If you like big hair, or if you want more volume, try to pineapple your hair. It’s essentially pulling your hair into a loose ponytail, which will protect your shampooed curls or bun from sleeping tumbling because it keeps everything in the center of your head. When you take it off, the hair that was hidden inside is revealed and looks flawless.
Pull your hair to the top of your head, secure it with a satin scrunchie, and tie it into a ponytail, not too tight. As simple as you think.
