You may have heard of wig tape but don't know what it is or want to try it but don't know how to use wig tape. You can use a wig tape to secure the wig for extra security. This article will tell you what wig tape is and how to use and remove wig tape.
Wig tape is a double-sided medical-grade tape that can even be safely applied to the skin. It comes in different strengths and shapes, from strips to small dots, rolls or sheets. If you already have silicone strips or patches on the sides of your wig, where they go in front of your ears, you can add a little wig tape to each side to keep your wig 100% secure and the wig won't move even in high winds.
Step1: When using wig tape, make sure the area you are going to apply is clean so that the tape will stick properly and securely.
Step 2: Cut out as much wig tape as you can to cover the parts you want to secure, whether it's just the sides of the wig or you feel you might need some extra security area.
Step 3: Peel off one side of the wig tape and place it where you want it to stay in place.
Step 4: When you're ready to wear the wig, peel off the other side of the tape and try to avoid touching it as you slowly and gently put it on.
Step 5: Finally, when you're happy with where the wig is, apply pressure to where the tape is. You can press a little longer to make sure it's firm, and you're done.
For wig with simple installation, we recommend taking your wig off at the end of the day so that it stays in good condition for as long as possible and allows your natural hair and scalp to breathe and relax.
The easiest way to remove wig tape is to use a solvent or alcohol-based adhesive remover. Dip a cotton ball in solvent or alcohol and dab the tape along your hairline to release adhesion. Slowly lift your wig until the tape loosens easily. Do not forcibly pull it off, if it is still stuck, continue to use adhesive to remove until it loosens.
Once the wig is off, you can use a remover to remove any sticky substance that remains on the skin. Microfiber towels can help remove residue from inside the wig. You'll need to shower and moisturize after removing the wig tape so that no adhesive remains on your skin or hair.
