How to Care for Your Body Wave Hair

Aug 8, 2023

Bleaching and Dyeing: Due to its high quality, you can bleach and dye your weave into practically any colour. However we caution our clients to either come to us or go to a professional stylist in order to bleach or dye the hair properly. Bleaching dries out the hair, unwinds curls and if the bleach is too strong, you can damage your weave permanently.

Washing Body Wave Hair: When washing your Peruvian body wave hair, make sure to first brush it thoroughly with a paddle brush to ensure that strands are free-flowing. This will unwind the waves somewhat, but you will be able to bring them back using a curling iron or bendy rollers. Make sure you use a pre-conditioning treatment before shampooing in order to reduce drying of the hair.

Brushing Body Wave Styles: With Body Wave textures you have a decision to make between using a paddle brush or a finger comb on your hair. While a finger comb will do a better job of maintaining the body wave style, you can use a paddle brush on your body wave styles. While this will straighten out the hair to a natural wave style, remember that you can always bring the curls back with either bendy rollers or any curling iron. As with other styles, when brushing or finger combing your Body Wave Peruvian Hair, always start from the tips of the hair, gently working your way up towards the roots. Please do not comb body wave styles with a fine tooth comb.

Caring for Body Wave Hair at Night: When going to sleep, tie your Peruvian Hair Body Wave into Bantu knots and cover it with a satin cap.
